New Name for Ski Boat Zone South

After much deliberation and consultation, Ski Boat Zone South has taken the decision to change their name to West Quay Marine.

‘The reason for the change came about as a result of the products that we now find ourselves selling, and the type of customer that we are seeing come through our doors’ commented Neil Hallos Managing Director of West Quay Marine

‘With our sales being geared very much more towards the larger luxury end of the MasterCraft Boat range, rather than the traditional Prostar 190 ski boats, we felt that the old name was no longer applicable. Our name change will hopefully also help alter peoples perception of MasterCraft boats and help them to realise that they are now very much at home in our demanding coastal waters. Indeed more Mastercrafts are now being produced specifically for the coastal market than for inland waters. This fact being amplified by the recent introduction to the range of the superb centre console CSX. We very much believe that our job at West Quay Marine is to grow the sales of these superb craft, and a name change that better reflected the market that we find ourselves working in, was an important part of our brief. Our position geographically in Poole, Dorset, gives us easy access to some of the most beautiful coastal waters in this country , what better place to be using a salt water series Mastercraft.

Simon Waring of MasterCraft GB welcomed the new name agreeing with their philosophy. ‘People have for decades known MasterCraft as the pioneers and industry leaders when it comes to performance ski and wakeboard boats. These vessels are still very much a major part of our business around the UK. Both ourselves and our southern distributor The Ski Boat Zone are located very close to the hub of inland lakes where people are waterskiing and wakeboarding, and are both very hands-on in the water-ski and wakeboard industry as a whole. We do both feel however that it is very important that Mastercraft are properly represented in the coastal market and with West Quay Marines experience, enthusiasm and location we can’t think of anyone better to do just that. Along with Preston Marina in the North West who were appointed to the Mastercraft family 2 years ago, and Abersoch Boat yard who became involved with Mastercraft last year, I am sure that we will be seeing sales of these salt water series MasterCraft’s multiplying into the areas around the UK coastal waters over the next few years’
