07 Jun 2024 - Optional Practice Day
08 Jun 2024 - Competition Day - Starts at 08:30 with Riders Briefing, first Division 09:00 sharp.

Note: Times may be liable change during the event, please check the official event schedule during the event to keep up to date with any modifications.

Event Terms and Conditions

Terms and conditions of the event can be found at Competition Terms and Conditions which every rider must agree to when entering the event. All riders must have a valid competitions licence and be a member of the BWSW to enter the event, when ordering a FREE licence you must agree to the terms and conditions, which apply to this event, and to all other Wakeboard UK hosted events.

Entry Details

Entry for the 2024 Midlands Nautique Wake Open is Now Open.

To enter the competition follow the 3 steps below:

Step 1 - BWSW Membership

To enter the competition you need to be a member of the BWSW. Skip to step 2 if you are already a member.

If you are not a member of a club you may join direct. Either call the membership department on 01932 579935 or join online.

Join the BWSW Online

Step 2 - BWSW Competition Licence

Once you are a member of the BWSW you need to obtain a free competition licence. Skip to step 3 if you already have a 2024 licence.

On the competition licence page select Discipline of Boat Wakeboard/Wakeskate/Wakesurf, then select licence of Boat Wakeboard National Licence (Adult and Junior)

Step 3 - Enter and Pay on EMS

Once you are a BWSW member and have a competition licence you need to enter on EMS and pay your entry and optional practice fees. Payment can now be made via EMS using paypal or card.

If you are not registered on EMS you will receive a registration invitation via email once your competition licence has been processed by the BWSW Head Office (usually after 1-3 days).

Pricing for the Entry Fees are as follow:

• Entry Fee Groms/Girls/Boys *: £35
• Entry Fee Junior to Veterans **: £45
• Optional Practice Fee ***: £25
• Late Entry Fees: £5 from 31st May onwards ****

Entry Notes

* Groms/Girls/Boys are 14 years and under on 31/Dec/2024
** Junior to Veterans are 15 years and over on 31/Dec/2024
*** Only 1 Practice slot per person, practice is for 10 mins. Your event organiser will be in contact in advance of the event to arrange your time slot
**** We will be introducing late entry fees this year. For the Wake open, At 00:00hrs on the 31st May (1 week prior to event) an additional £5 per entry/practice will be included in the price.

Intermediate Divisions

The purpose of the Intermediate division is encourage new riders to compete.

Note that the Intermediate division does not feature at International titled events so is not relevant to Team GB squad selection. If you’re aiming to qualify for Team GB then please enter one of the other divisions.

The eligibility for this division has been set as follows:

• The winner of the Intermediate division is not eligible to compete in that division the following year

• Riders are no longer eligible for the Intermediates division after achieving a podium place in that division for two years

• The two eligibility rules above are applied from the 2019 Wake Open onwards

• The maximum level of tricks is as follows:

  • Men - Maximum two invert/glide tricks, one spin of 360 or above. No mobes.

  • Women - No inverts (or glide tricks); no spins of 360s above

  • Any tricks executed in an intermediate rider run exceeding this limit will not be scored (and in the case of the mens category if the limit is exceeded only the first inverts/glides/spins within that limit will be counted so riders should execute other tricks once they reach the limit)

• The Chief Judge has discretion to run the Intermediate division on a smaller wakeboarding boat if one is being used for the Groms, Boys or Girls categories.

Competitions Footage Useage

• Your competition footage may be utilised on our website, and on social media.
• Not all footage will be released but be prepared to be on the website and on Insta if you do well!

BWSW Membership

• This competition is provided for UK Citizens including people from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. This competition is organised with the backing of The British Water Ski & Wakeboard Federation Ltd and therefore competitors are required to be current members of BWSW or an IWWF affiliated federation which contains UK citizens.
