The 18-year-old, who was born in Kent and whose UK base is in Surrey, was one of the youngest competitors in the spectacular boat wakeboard event. He rode alongside wakeboard legends such as Massi Piffaretti and Cory Teunissen who took 1st and 2nd respectively at the event.
Jeremy Nevill, Wakeboard UK Chairman said: “The whole British Wakeboard Squad were glued to their screens on Monday morning when Luca rode in the wakeboard finals at the Beach Games.
The excitement was palpable as we watched every trick that Luca and the other competitors made via the live stream. We’re so proud that Luca took fourth place and look forward to the next Beach Games!”
Luca was the only Briton in the wakeboard competition and was selected on the basis of his impressive results including two Junior World titles.
Luca is now a full-time wakeboarder. He trains in the UK at LDB Wake School at Thorpe Park, Surrey, and in Florida and Majorca and is sponsored by Malibu Boats and Liquid Force Wakeboards.
He now heads to Mexico for the WWA Worlds alongside other Team GB wakeboarders including Mitch Wise, Katie Batchelor and Joseph Humphries.
