The London International Boat Show is taking place from 7th to 16th January 2011 and the sport of wakeboarding is going to be the highlight of the show! A huge 70m by 24m pool is being setup inside the recently improved and expanded London Excel Exhibition Centre. The show has undergone some vast improvements for 2011 with the introduction of the Watersports Action Pool, the knowledge box featuring Matt Crowhurst, Brushboarding and the all new boardwalk.

To make sure the wakeboarding is of the very highest standard the London Boat Show has teamed up with Alliance Wakeboard Magazine. The revolutionary Sesitec System 2.0 will be installed over the pool and provide the riders with continuous loops of the pool in rapid time! Two floating obstacles will be situated on the water with an 800 seater grandstand and beach bar surrounding the pool edges.

The ten day show will feature at least two wakeboard shows each day. In each show you will witness the talents of European Boat Champion Dan Nott, British Cable Champion CK Koester, style master Jonty Green and rail riding legend Lee Debuse. With the addition of special guests on various days the riding will be red hot.

On Thursday evening it’s late night party time at the boat show and the pool plays host to an intense competition. With 10 invited riders competing for £1000 cash the action will be fierce. The prize pot is split into 3 best tricks, with riders fighting for the best trick on the kicker, cable and rail! The judges include Nick Davies, James Young and Stew Mackie and the likes of Lewis Cornwall, Declan Clifford and Sam Carne will all be riding.

The boat show features hundreds of exhibitors from quality wakeboard retailers like Off Axis and Craig Cohoon to the colossal Sunseeker and Princess stands. MasterCraft and Nautique will both be present and showing the latest 2011 boats and make sure you get down to the Alliance Wakeboard stand by the pool for loads of wakeboarding goodies, good advice and to meet the riders. The watersports hall is an awesome place to check out potential holiday destinations, get mega deals on last year’s kit and get some sneaky peeks at the new seasons wakeboard ranges. This year the visitors will be spoilt for choice when it comes to beverages, the legendary Guinness bar will be there but also a beach bar is situated right next to the pool and the Alliance stand!

The Knowledge Box is brand new for the 2011 show and is a small intimate theatre with presentations running every day. Matt Crowhurst will be giving 5 presentations throughout the boat show talking about the history, current state of wakeboarding and great advice on how to get into the sport.

Each day the pro wakeboard team will be teaching beginners to wakeboard in the ‘have a go’ sessions on the pool. This year’s boat show is all about inspiring people and then giving them opportunities to try the sports. You will be able to try everything from wakeboarding to kayaking and the latest craze of stand up paddle boarding. For more info www.londonboatshow.com
