British Team Success at Europe & Africa Wakeboard Championships

The British wakeboard team won a silver medal for their overall performance at the Europe and Africa Wakeboard Championships 2010. The event took place in Fagersta, Sweden from the 12th to 15th August 2010. The atmosphere was great and the weather conditions really helped provide some awesome action on the water. Dan Nott retained the Open Men's title for the 3rd consecutive year. Dan has now won the title on 4 separate occasions. Also in the Open Men's division, Sam Carne made it through to the semi finals, unfortunately Johnny Carne and James Hooper were both knocked out of the Last Chance Qualifier.

Sam Weinstein and Jorge Gill narrowly missed out on the medals, taking 4th in the Junior Men and Boys respectively. Ed Blundell finished 5th in the Boys division with Bryce Corrand not managing to progress beyond the LCQ. As team captain, Stewart Mackie entered the Masters division, but was unsuccessful in the LCQ.

Congratulations to Charlotte Bryant for winning the gold medal in the Junior Ladies division. Also in the Junior Ladies, Nancy Creedy achieved a respectable 5th place. Julia Hayley and Katie Batchelor both secured podium spots, taking bronze in the Open Ladies and Girls divisions. Sam Knott made it into the LCQ for Open Ladies but sadly didn't make it through.

The overall gold medal went to the Italian team. The Russian team took bronze. The full results are available on the wwc website
