Tuesday 30th October 2007 sees the start of what is possibly the biggest professional wakeboarding event of 2007 with three world class competitions being combined over four action packed days on the water.
An expected 153 riders from 22 countries will be arriving in Doha, Qatar for the prestigious World Wakeboard Championships and the final stop of the IWSF invitation only Wakeboard World Cup Series.
Having toured many major cities this year, the World Cup Series is already known as one of the very best of the best international competitions. By being invitation only, the standard of riding is second to none and always proves to be a real crowd pleaser with the world’s number one riders always putting in immense performances in order to walk away with the 5 figure prize purse, and Doha promises to be something special.
Also running alongside, is the 2nd Annual, Arab Wakeboard Championships, a great opportunity to showcase the growth and popularity of wakeboarding in the East.
The event is being held at the exclusive Doha Diplomatic Club, a site that has been purposely built to host world class water ski and wakeboard competitions, providing the perfect location to see the worlds elite riders all pushing the limits to get their hands on the massive prize purse of $60’000 and with so much action taking place over a few days, competition will be fierce.
Already making waves in the Middle East, MasterCraft, for the sixth year in a row, will once again be in full force providing the multi award winning X-Star as the official towboat for the competitions.
